‘Indexable Inserts’

A Manufacturingtalk guide

Start with the news release Insert drills raise fabricator's throughput from Allied Maxcut Engineering Co, which we summarised at the time by saying "By using AMEC's T-A holders with TiAlN and TiN inserts a steel fabricator has improved manufacturing throughput by 25% and has increased tool life by a factor of 10 over the original tooling.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Kennametal launches Beyond turning products from Kennametal UK: "Kennametal has announced the launch of Beyond, a platform of high-performance turning products.".

In December 2008, we covered the news from Bott - take a look at Bott changes processes to develop Cubio range which says: "Bott has made significant changes to its production processes as it introduces its Cubio range of modular workplace products.".

Take a look also at the news release from Walter GB, Walter's CNC tools reduce Zeus's cutting times, as well as JW Winco offers interchangeable insert wrenches from Winco, and Horn develops laser-machined chip breakers from Horn Cutting Tools.
