Start with the news release Configured drive packages save costs from Rockwell Automation, which we summarised at the time by saying "A configured drives service allows engineers to choose a base drive package and then enhance it with numerous options in line with the needs of the application". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Subcontractor gains ISO 9001 BSI accreditation from Brunel: "A UK subcontractor suppling zinc diecastings, metal stampings and assemblies is expanding outside of its usual markets and has gained ISO 9001 BSI accreditation".
 
In August 2007, we covered the news from Newall Measurement Systems concerning its SHG-AF absolute linear encoder - take a look at Linear encoders enliven vertical boring mills which says: "Retrofitting linear encoders to the older vertical boring mills/vertical turning lathes reduces scrap and rework rates by improving machgining accuracy and repeatability".
