We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Linear Motor", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Machine tools take the lead - for now from Mike Page - editor's feature articles, which we summarised at the time by saying "At one time, tooling development tended to be a year or so ahead of machine tool development, lately the trend went the other way, though toolmakers are now more than catching up, writes Mike Page". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release CNC multi-slide lathes replace automatics from DMG (UK): "CNC-multislide lathes are compact machines to replace older single spindle automatics for the serial production of medium-size, simple workpieces made from brass, aluminium and steel".

In December 2007, we covered the news from Schaeffler (UK) concerning its IDAM torque motors - take a look at Torque motors suit turning centres which says: "Latest torque motors presented at EMO 2007 ensure optimized latching force and load pulsation, reach peak forces of 13,000N and are now suitable for use in large machining centers".

Take a look also at the news release from Emag UK, Grinding crankshaft pins and bearings in one, as well as CNC turning and mill-turn machines updated from DMG (UK), and Machining centre mills to nano level accuracy from Sodi-Tech edm.
