Start with the news release HMCs replace VMCs and raise productivity 25% from NCMT, which we summarised at the time by saying "Two of the latest 4-axis horizontal machining centres are machining aircraft steel engine mounts and have raised productivity by 25% compared with vertical machining centre work". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release High-precision laser cuts more productively from Fanuc GE CNC UK: "Claimed to be the smallest and lightest CO2 laser on the market, a 4kW model with improved beam quality and stability, can cut sheet metals up to 25mm thick".
 
In November 2007, we covered the news from Fanuc GE CNC UK concerning its 3D interference check function - take a look at 3D CNC collision check function improved which says: "Fanuc GE has developed a 3D interference check function, which helps prevent machine collisions for the Series 30i/31i model A CNC controllers and a data exchange is possible with CAD systems".
