Start with the news release Digital DC drives made for automation from Gefran SIEI UK, which we summarised at the time by saying "A range of digital DC drives is designed to minimise user system requirements, with optional functions and dedicated application packages available for complex industrial automation systems". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Safety products control packaging safety from Pilz Automation Technology: "A range of safety system control products - from safety relaysto a multi function modular controller - are available for builders of packaging machinery".
 
In July 2007, we covered the news from Blackfast Chemicals concerning its 'Blackfast LP' electrocoat lacquering process - take a look at Electrocoat lacquer achieves major cost savings which says: "Normally a packaging machine builder subcontracted out the black anodising of aluminium parts, but an electrocoat laquering process allowed the company to bring aluminium finishing 'in-house'".
