Start with the news release Makino machining centres cut titanium faster from NCMT, which we summarised at the time by saying "Japanese machine-tool builder Makino has introduced the Makino T4 and T2 five-axis, high power, horizontal machining centres for machining components from titanium and its alloys.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release SGS offers non-destructive testing of tanks from SGS SA - Industrial Services: "SGS Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is able to carry out expert controls, inspections and measurements of tanks storing dangerous goods to ensure business security and safety. ".
 
In July 2009, we covered the news from Clitheroe Light Engineering - take a look at Clitheroe plans further FMS extension which says: "Clitheroe Light Engineering, a Lancashire-based contract machinist, is planning to further extend its flexible manufacturing system (FMS) to increase capacity for general engineering contracts.".
