Start with the news release IDC microcontroller eliminates cable clutter from IDC - Intelligent Distributed Controls, which we summarised at the time by saying "IDC's ZB108 wireless programmable microcontroller offers the ability to eliminate centralised PLCs, control cubicles and fieldbus cabling. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Air Cleaning to exhibit at Southern Manufacturing from Air Cleaning Systems: "Air Cleaning Systems (ACS) will be demonstrating its airborne particulate removal systems at the Southern Manufacturing exhibition from 11-12 February 2009.".
 
In December 2008, we covered the news from IRISS - take a look at Iriss passes 50kA arc test which says: "The Iriss VPFR infrared window has passed a 50,000A 6-cycle arc resistance test, conducted to the required IEC 62271-200 standards on marine switchgear at a test facility in Germany. ".
