We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Pocket Milling", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Powerful CNCs and DROs need not be expensive from Anilam, which we summarised at the time by saying "Affordable CNCs and DROs will be demonstrated at MACH 2008 performing milling, machining centre and turning applications and show that price does not compromise performance". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Heavy HMCs machine space telescope mirrors from Mitsui Seiki: "Custom-built horizontal machining centers are machining the James Webb Space Telescope mirror segments positioning them within a few microns anywhere in a machining envelope".

In December 2007, we covered the news from 600 Centre concerning its Mitsui Seiki HS6A horizontal machining centre - take a look at Horizontal machining center machines optics which says: "Custom built horizontal machining centre has machined the largest lightweight beryllium optic for an infrared optimised space telescope to be launched in 2013".

Take a look also at the news release from DP Technology, CAM has improved 3D machining performance, as well as Damped tools mill deep cavities and pockets from Sandvik Coromant UK, and Retrofit CNC adds life to useful machining centre from ACI (UK).
