We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Production Engineer", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Encoders upgrade vertical machining centre from Heidenhain (GB), which we summarised at the time by saying "After fitting linear encoders to a VMC, an equivalent machining test confirmed that the 3 micron inaccuracy previously experienced when machining beryllium had reduced to zero in the X-axis". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Mill/turn centre speeds changeover on batches from Colchester-Harrison: "A CNC mill/turn centre equipped with a sub-spindle provides quick job changeover times when producing 500 different motor shaft types in a 'single-hit' cycle".

In November 2007, we covered the news from Cincinnati Machine concerning its FTV 840/1800 machining centre - take a look at VMC reduces valve part machining time by 40% which says: "Valve manufacturer reports that its latest vertical machining centre has machined a valve with 4,813 x 3mm diameter holes 40% quicker compared to the previous machine used for the task".

Take a look also at the news release from Heraeus Noblelight, I-R Division, Infra-red system checks bonnets for creases, as well as High performance machining centre at Siemens from Heller Machine Tools, and Metalworking fluids management meets HSE rules from Houghton Plc.
