Start with the news release Metal cutting tools go on display at MACH 2008 from Walter GB, which we summarised at the time by saying "On show at MACH 2008 for the first time in the UK will be indexable cutting tools for turning, milling, drilling, boring and reaming, solid carbide and high-speed steel drills, taps and end mills". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Midsized metalizer offers fast cycle times from Vergason Technology: "Users of a modular metallising system for coating plastics can choose between sputtering, thermal evaporation, or CatArc cathodic arc for rapid cycling and higher quality".
 
In January 2008, we covered the news from Kennametal UK concerning its KSRM milling cutter - take a look at Milling cutters reduce cycle time which says: "Rough milling cutters for machining steels and SS cut cycle time/workpiece by one-third, said a manufacturer, which has also introduced a new supernitride PVD coating for insert tooling".
