Start with the news release Portable CMM arm is 30% more accurate from FARO Technologies, which we summarised at the time by saying "On show at MACH 2008 will be a portable CMM measuring arm that 30% more accurate, 33% lighter in weight, and offers better performance in scanning dark or reflective surfaces". Earlier in the week, we featured the news release Ford awards top supplier status to Stadco from Stadco: "Ford has awarded Q1 status to a plant of a leading UK supplier of body-in-white services and facilities, Stadco, whose West Midlands facility supplies pressed aluminium skin panels".
 
In January 2008, we covered the news from Rodmatic concerning its Programmable automatic component cleaning system - take a look at Sub-contract machining includes automatic cleaning which says: "By installing a programmable automatic component cleaning system, a sub-contract machinist factory has made a massive improvement in its quality standards".
