Start with the news release Large horizontal machining centres come to UK from Matsuura Machinery, which we summarised at the time by saying "Two large horizontal twin pallet machining centres feature 'Box in Box' structural design for robust, high speed machining excellence, reliability and cost effectiveness". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Vertical machining centres offer wide choice from Colchester-Harrison: "Vertical machining centres are in a rang covering from a simple, low-cost, high rigidity general purpose machine, to a high specification type with 15,000 rev/min spindle and 48m/min rapid traverse".
 
In November 2007, we covered the news from Yamazaki Mazak UK concerning its Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 200-II MS - take a look at CNC mill-turn centre meets aviation needs which says: "Aerospace subcontractor, Portsmouth Aviation was asked to produce components for next-generation defence programmes and an automated CNC multi-tasking mill-turn centre was acquired to do this".
