Start with the news release Clitheroe plans further FMS extension from Clitheroe Light Engineering, which we summarised at the time by saying "Clitheroe Light Engineering, a Lancashire-based contract machinist, is planning to further extend its flexible manufacturing system (FMS) to increase capacity for general engineering contracts.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Business as usual at 2009 Subcon event from Subcon: "Organisers at Subcon have announced that visitor numbers were up 30 per cent at the 2009 event, held at the NEC in Birmingham on 9-11 June 2009.".

In April 2009, we covered the news from Subcon - take a look at Subcon 2009 to focus on subcontract engineering which says: "Subcon 2009, which will take place on 9-11 June at the NEC in Birmingham, will show that there are still areas of strong activity in UK manufacturing, particularly in subcontract engineering.".

Take a look also at the news release from Mori Seiki UK, Hi-Force buys Mori Seiki equipment and services, as well as Fintec uses ESAB profile cutting technology from ESAB Cutting Systems, and Strong steels key to quiet commercial vehicles from SSAB Swedish Steel.
