We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Surface Coating", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Five axis machining of aerospace components from Dugard, which we summarised at the time by saying "A Hedelius RS 125-K supplied by C Dugard to Oldland CNC Engineering, using five-axis technology, enables machining of larger aluminium and titanium aerospace components". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Coated roller chains take high loads from Iwis-Flexon: "Roller chains are coated to significantly reduce the surface coefficient of friction within the chain link and offer a high load bearing capacity, wear-resistance and resistance to chemicals".

In August 2007, we covered the news from LMT Fette concerning its Steeltec LC225 indexable turning insert - take a look at Ceramic coated inserts turn steels at 300m/min which says: "As well as enabling a CNC lathe to turn steels at cutting speeds up to 300m/min, nano-crystalline TiCN ceramic coated inserts offer a longer tool life - up to 50% - compared with coated inserts".

Take a look also at the news release from Blackfast Chemicals, Blacking pocess works at room temperature, as well as Positioners with structural rigidity from Micromech, and PM cold-work die steel has low friction from Uddeholm Tooling.
