We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Surface Quality", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Machining centre, 5-axis, mills Al and non-metals from CMS Group (UK), which we summarised at the time by saying "For machining non-ferrous metals and non-metals a 5-axis machining centre a more stiffness to the 5-axis cutting head than is normally associated with machines of this type". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Reamer developments provide high quality finishes from Mapal: "Expandable reamers having replaceable heads with fixed blades and tangential reamers with guide pads were claimed at EMO 2007 to provide very high quality machining results".

In September 2007, we covered the news from Schaeffler (UK) concerning its Ready-to-fit rolling bearing supports - take a look at Bearings dampen rotary tables' vibration which says: "To achieve good machined workpiece surface qualities and dimensional consistency, a bearing support system for rotary tables dampens vibrations and improves rigidity".

Take a look also at the news release from Agie Charmilles, Die-sinking EDMs offer high speed/acceleration, as well as Machining centres offer precise 5-axis milling from DMG (UK), and Machine tools - more visitors flock to EMO from VDW.
