Start with the news release Measuring probes set tools, measure parts from NCMT, which we summarised at the time by saying "CNC machine tool manually operated measuring probes will be introduced for tool length setting, datuming and component measurement at MACH 2008". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release US toolholding/boring/reaming firm acquired from Command Tooling Systems: "German tooling manufacturer, EWS, has acquired Command Tooling Systems, USA, which will continue to make standard and special toolholding systems and boring/reaming systems".
 
In December 2007, we covered the news from NC Engineering concerning its Citizen L20-VIII I CNC sliding head lathe - take a look at Sliding head automatics quell CNC 'fear' which says: "If anyone has any 'fear' of using CNC machines, this subcontractor's experiences with CNC sliding had automatic lathes , show how that fear was lost and more profits were gained".
