Start with the news release Thread turning insert halves costs from Vargus Tooling UK, which we summarised at the time by saying "An innovative six-cutting corner system of a thread turning insert promises revolutionary gains in productivity as well as halving tooling costs, said the MACH 2008 exhibitor". Earlier in the week, we featured the news release Coolant testing kit checks HSE compliance from Fuchs Lubricants (UK) Plc: "To conform with UK Health and Safety guidelines, a cutting lubricants supplier has introduced a mobile coolant testing kit for checking water soluablee fluids for bacterial contamination".

In January 2008, we covered the news from Matsuura Machinery concerning its Matsuura machining centres - take a look at Engineers help save on 5-axis machining costs which says: "Machine tool supplier's applications engineers helped a subcontractor reduce aerospace component cycle times and tooling costs by identifying improvements to the cutting cycles".

Take a look also at the news release from Kasto, Cheaper sawing machines can cost more to operate, as well as Machining centre, 5-axis, mills Al and non-metals from CMS Group (UK), and Solid carbide drills' heads are replaceable from WNT (UK).
