We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Weld Pool", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Flux-cored wire improves weld quality from Lincoln Electric Company, The, which we summarised at the time by saying "Claimed to offer the most stable arc on the market today, a gas-shielded flux-cored wire also offers easy wire feeding and precise chemical composition to produce higher quality welds". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release TIG welders suit a wide range of uses from ESAB: "Three TIG welding machines feature different characteristics and features, making them suitable for a wide range of applications".

In October 2006, we covered the news from Kemppi (UK) concerning its FastROOT - take a look at Welding process for thin sheet metal welding which says: "At Schweissen und Schneiden 2005 Kemppi introduced FastROOT a new welding process, developed for accurate and fast MIG/MAG root pass and thin sheet metal welding".

Take a look also at the news release from TPS-Fronius, Achieving a stable arc with MMA welding, as well as Using N2, not argon, cuts gas costs by two thirds from Parker Domnick Hunter, and GTAW process has high penetration depth from Plasma Team.
