Start with the news release 60m robot system welds aluminium rolling stock from Cloos Schweisstechnik, which we summarised at the time by saying "Robotic welding systems on a 60m long overhead track are reducing fabrication costs and shortening construction times in building railway rolling stock, writes Walter Lutz". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Wire-EDM plus water jet equals faster cutting from Sodi-Tech edm: "To provide even faster cutting speeds than are currently possible with wire-EDM, the process has been combined with water jet cutting in one machine to increase speeds".
 
In October 2007, we covered the news from 600 Centre concerning its Wire EDM - take a look at Wire EDM has fewer parts and more rigidity which says: "An increase of 40 per cent to machine rigidity and twin-servo wire tension control giving 35 per cent fewer mechanical parts, are factors that improve performance of the latest Fanuc wire EDM range".
