We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Worm Gears", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Manufacturingtalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Dual lead worm gears work either way from Renold Gears, which we summarised at the time by saying "Dual lead worm gear sets are said to be ideally suited for use in positional machinery as they provide a kinematically correct gear, which can run in either direction of rotation". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Modular worm gear units have oversized bearings from Nord Gear: "High-reliability right-angle worm gear units have oversized bearings to extend life in electro-mechanical automation applications such as conveyors".

In December 2007, we covered the news from Rodriguez (UK) concerning its Framo Morat 'Compacta' slip-on geared motor - take a look at Slip-on geared motor saves space which says: "Designed for repeatable positioning and reversing tasks, a slip-on geared motor provides 22 output speed options and offers a wide range of power and duty cycles".

Take a look also at the news release from Renold Gears, Heavy pair of wormwheel gearboxes made, as well as Why honing is used widely for gear finishing from Sunnen Products Company, and NC rotary indexing tables are modular from Roemheld UK.
