Air compressors offer higher efficiencies

An ABAC product story

Designed for demanding hygienic air applications, the oil free compressors from Abac UK are claimed to be much quieter, more robust and more efficient than previous models.

Abac UK claimed that its Clean-Air, oil free compressors are much quieter, more robust and more efficient than previous models.

The Prime Range (PR) of compressors are designed for hygienic air applications across a range of industries and are available in silenced and standard form, with or without adsorption air dryers.

The silenced version is housed in a modern acoustic cabinet and can achieve noise levels as low as 54 dB(A), said Abac.

The compressors do not use oil as a lubricant, and are therefore inherently hygienic and suitable for a range of applications requiring very high quality air, said Abac to manufacturingtalk.

When forming part of a system together with adsorption dryers and air filters, they are capable of providing uncontaminated air which easily meets regulatory requirements.

These systems can produce compressed air with an atmospheric dew-point of not less than -20 deg C, dust filtration down to 1 micron and optional bacterial filtration down to 0.01 micron.

* Innovative compressor pump unit - the range has a number of advanced features.

All models use an innovative compressor pump unit of advanced design, which produces higher air output up to an air pressure of 10 bar and with less vibration.

The compressor pump design allows a lower running speed, leading to reduced noise levels and longer life.

Special anti-vibration mountings are also used, reducing pump vibration and cabinet noise further.

In the PR range a choice of three motor sizes is offered, including 2HP (1.5kW) and 1HP (0.75kW) models.

The models in this range which use an integral dryer offer a major operational advantage in that they are practically maintenance free, said Abac.

The receiver is also coated internally to avoid any contamination of the compressed air.

For those models using an accoustic cabinet, overall cabinet size is the same for all models at 425x695x795mm (WxDxH) and a weight of around 90kg.

* About Abac - founded in 1980, Abac is a world-wide market leader in the production and distribution of air compressors for the industrial, professional, semi-professional and consumer sectors.

It operates from four production plants world-wide with around 1,400 employees, and serves customers in 123 countries across five continents.

Abac reckons there are more than 10 million of its compressors in operation and these support millions of businesses and professional organisations all over the world.

Comprising a wide choice of piston compressors and rotary screw compressors for industrial, automotive and other applications, Abac products employ lubricated and oil free technology in a power range of between 1kW and 620kW.

In addition it supplies a complete range of accessories including dryers, air treatment, pneumatic controls, filters and fittings.
