ABB drives range extended
ABB has extended the range of one of the key elements in its ACS 600 drives range, by introducing new IGBT Supply Unit frame sizes.
ABB Drives Alliance is the upper tier of drives distributors, appointed by ABB to form the backbone of what the company claims is the most advanced drives supply and service network in the UK.
As one of seven ABB Drives Alliance members, Mid-Kent Electrical will provide a full range of drives, with access to one of Europe's largest stock networks of AC drives available off-the-shelf.
Services include drive selection, energy efficiency assessments, harmonics and EMC analysis, maintenance programmes and emergency call-outs.
The company also sells and maintains AC and DC motors, pumps and gearboxes, and has a full range of machining facilities and on-site services.
Motors up to 200KW and drives up to 90 kW are kept on the premises for rapid delivery.
The MKE Drive Systems unit is based in Sittingbourne, with branches also in Maidstone and Erith.
"As a Drives Alliance member, we have unrivalled access to ABB's technical backup and central stocks, and can quickly design drive solutions based on a power or torque and process requirements," says Gary Palmer, Drive Systems Manager at MKE Drive Systems.
Mid-Kent Electrical Engineering was last year appointed an ABB Motor Service Partner, which is the upper tier of ABB's low voltage motor distributors.
The company will with this latest appointment be in a strong position to deliver complete drives and motor packages.
The appointment of Mid-Kent Electrical as ABB Drives Alliance member follows the closure of the drives activities of Power Products UK (formerly Arcontrol Power Products), the company that previously covered the area, prompted by the proprietor's retirement.
Power Products UK's main drives experts have now joined Mid-Kent Electrical Engineering to form the MKE Drive Systems division.
