Advanced Power Drive Systems (APDS) in Bristol has taken over from Central Electrical as ABB Drives Alliance and ABB Motor Service Partner for the Southwest of England.

ABB drives range extended
ABB has extended the range of one of the key elements in its ACS 600 drives range, by introducing new IGBT Supply Unit frame sizes.
Pitt says: "APDS Limited, staffed by the existing sales and support team, will continue to offer the level of service customers have come to expect, and will maintain strong links with Central Electrical in the Northwest.
"However with the new setup, with a small team focused on local needs, we can be more agile as an organisation and more flexible in the type of partnering we undertake with customers." The change will become effective from April 1st and is fully supported by ABB.
APDS will continue to be a Drives Alliance and Motor Service Partner and will offer the full range of ABB drives and motors.
Says Pitt: "Current contracts will not be affected and we will continue to work with our major customers in the area, such as BMW, RMC and the various water authorities.
"We have informed all our regular customers about the change and will be visiting them personally to discuss it with them.
However, we have already received a lot of positive feedback from them and they understand the reasons for this development.
"We look forward to continuing to work with them and aim to continue the expansion of the business." APDS is located at 302 Dean Road, Avonmouth, Bristol, BS11 8AG.
