Injection moulders' electric drives
featured
Injection moulders feature the main functions of 'mould opening and closing', 'injection' and 'dosing' have been designed with electric drives as standard.
With four exhibits and interesting applications, Arburg will be offering visitors to the Equiplast an overview of its current product range The Equiplast 2005 trade fair will take place from 14th to 18th November in Barcelona, Spain

Injection moulder has clamping force of 4000kN
The largest injection moulder yet built by Arburg - with a clamping force of 4000kN will make its first international appearance at the Fakuma 2002 plastics exhibition, Germany October 15-19, 2002.
Moulder produces syringes at Inter-plas
A 48-cavity mould will be used to produce single-use hypodermic syringes in aninjection moulder using peripheries including handling and an external cooling block.
On Stand C539, Hall 1, Arburg will be presenting an electric Allrounder 320 A, a universal Allrounder 270 U with position-controlled screw, a two-component version of the large Allrounder 820 S and also an Allrounder 520 C from the proven C-series.
With its varied programme of events at the Equiplast, Arburg is demonstrating the proverbial modularity which distinguishes all its products.
* The electric Alldrive series - with the electric Alldrive series, Arburg offers modularity in drive design: On all Allrounder A machines, the main functions of 'mould opening and closing', 'injection' and 'dosing' have been designed with electric drives as standard, while additional movements such as 'ejection', 'nozzle movement' and 'mould functions' can be operated either hydraulically or electrically, depending on requirements.

Robotic system handles 20kg injection mouldings
The new robotic system variant combines horizontal and vertical systems into a gantry-mounted system for removing 20kg mouldings from the larger injection moulders.
PET, PP preforms production systems are flexible
Small series with quick changes, frequent design changes and independence in preform production are the main arguments for a high degree of flexibility of preform units.
This concept allows the advantages of both systems to be combined.
Wherever the production task requires it, the machines feature the utmost electro-mechanical accuracy combined with economic energy consumption and where required, sufficient hydraulic power.
The Allrounder 320 A 600-170 on exhibit at the Equiplast is the smallest size in Arburg's electric Alldrive range.
This exhibit features a clamping force of 600kN, an internal distance of 320 millimetres between tie bars and a size 170 injection unit, the maximum moulded part weight of which is 105g of polystyrene.
* Allrounder 270 U with position-controlled screw - the universal Allrounder 270 U 400-100 features a clamping force of 400kN, an internal distance of 270mm between tie bars, a 100-series injection unit and a maximum moulded part weight of 65g of polystyrene.
The exhibit will be working with a position-controlled screw, which Arburg offers as an option on hydraulic Allrounders.
Position control of the screw makes for good dynamics and reproducibility on the injection side.
This high level of accuracy is guaranteed owing to a double-action cylinder, which ensures that the injection pistons can be pressurised on both sides.
In order to distinguish it from single-action cylinders, this is sometimes referred to as a "constrained system".
* Allrounder 820 S integrated into a production cell - an Allrounder 820 S 4000-3200/150 will be presented in two-component configuration to demonstrate a complex production cell.
With a clamping force of 4000kN and an internal distance of 820mm between tie bars, the 820 S is the largest machine in the Arburg range.
On this exhibition machine, the well-known Arburg briefcase will be produced using the two-component injection moulding process.
The flexible Multilift HV robotic system is used to remove the moulded parts.
This system enters the mould horizontally and sets the parts down vertically.
Using automatic material supply and dyeing, one briefcase shell featuring the typical Arburg logo will be produced per cycle.
The two halves of the briefcase are then assembled fully automatically and the finished briefcase is set down on the conveyor belt.
Our trade fair appearance at the Equiplast will be completed by the presentation of the Allrounder 520 C, representing the proven C-series, the Thermolift 100-2 combined material dryer and conveyer and the 'Selogica direct' alternative control system equipped with a touch screen, which can be tested in depth using a simulator.
