Arburg will be exhibiting at the Brasilplast in Sao Paulo with two new products including in-mould labling.

Arburg will be exhibiting at the Brasilplast in Sao Paulo "With these two exhibits, we will impressively demonstrate the performance of our hydraulic and electric Allrounders in the packaging sector," says Helmut Heinson, Managing Director Sales at Arburg, describing the programme at this year's trade fair

On the hydraulic Allrounder 570 C Golden Edition, 24 screw caps will be injection-moulded simultaneously and the electric Allrounder 570 A will be presented performing an application from the field of in-mould labelling (IML).

Arburg introduced the Allrounder Golden Edition onto the market in 2006 on the occasion of the anniversary, "50 years of ARBURG injection moulding machines" and, as a result of its international success, has since included it as a fixed part of its product range.

"Our customers were delighted," reports Kai Wender, Subsidiary Manager at Arburg Brazil.

Right from the start, the Brazilian market responded very well to the new series.

"Even after just a few months, product quality and productivity could be increased thanks to the use of the Allrounder Golden Edition," says Wender, summarising the unanimous feedback from his customers.

In addition to the attractive price, the series - which covers a clamping force range from 400 to 3,000 kN with six sizes, Allrounders 270 C, 320 C, 420 C, 470 C, 570 C and 720 S Golden Edition - impresses particularly through its technically high-quality standard equipment.

This includes the modern Selogica "direct" control system alternative with touch screen for ease of operation, highly wear-resistant plasticising cylinder fittings for a long service life and fast-switching valve technology for superior-quality moulded parts.

With their optional features, the basic machines can be individually equipped for every user's injection moulding requirements.

"With the Allrounder Golden Edition and its excellent price/performance ratio, local producers and service providers, in particular, who purchase their capital goods with a strong focus on price, are able to add technically high-quality machines to their fleet and therefore serve a more demanding clientele," explains the Brazilian Subsidiary Manager.

At the Brasilplast, Arburg is also demonstrating how perfectly suited the Allrounder Golden Edition is for applications with short cycle times and high repeat accuracy, on an Allrounder 570 C Golden Edition with a clamping force of 2,000 kN, distance between tie bars of 570 x 570 millimetres and a size 800 injection unit.

Equipped with a 24-cavity mould, the machine injection moulds screw caps weighing 2.2 grams in a cycle time of about 4.5 seconds.

The second exhibit belongs to the electric Allrounder A (Alldrive) series.

The Allrounder 570 A 2000-800 features a clamping force of over 2,000 kN, a distance between tie bars of 570 x 570 millimetres and a size 800 injection unit.

This machine is equipped with a four-cavity mould for the production of 300-millilitre cups using the IML process.

The application has an overall cycle time of 4.8 seconds, including insertion of the film.

This exhibit constitutes the largest machine from the electric Alldrive series, which covers a clamping force range of 500 to 2,000 kN.

The main axes of the Allrounder A are electrically driven as standard.

These movements include the functions "mould opening and closing", "injection" and "dosage".

These axes are orientation and position-controlled and operate independently of each other with high precision and dynamics as well as low noise emission levels.

In addition to energy savings, synchronous movements enable a reduction in cycle times.

The auxiliary axes can also be moved hydraulically, depending on the operating requirements, enabling machines to be set up in an individual and cost-effective manner.

The axes in question are for movements such as "ejection" or "mould functions".

With this machine concept, customers have a choice: the machine movements can either be performed dynamically with high precision via servo-electric drive, or powerfully and smoothly via a hydraulic cylinder.
