Hand-held code-reader aids part tracking

An Absolute Vision product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Feb 3, 2004

Hand-held multi-symbology code-reader aids remote parts tracking, mobile data integration and quality control in the aerospace and automotive industries.

Absolute Vision, a specialist in two-dimensional (2D) code reading, will launch a new hand-held multi-symbology code-reader at the IPOT show in February 2004.

The new wireless reader has been designed to meet requirements for remote parts tracking, mobile data integration and quality control in the aerospace and automotive industries.

Absolute Vision's stand will provide the chance for you to see product demonstrations and handle a range of innovative 2D code-readers for manufacturing industries.

Products on display will include the DataMouse hand-held code-reader and the Directly Applied Marks reader, used for traceability in part manufacturing and assembly.

The readers can be used in any manufacturing area where parts need to be individually identified for quality compliance and production control.

The Air Transport Association and major aerospace manufacturers have now mandated the application of 2D Data Matrix codes for part traceability so that all sub-suppliers need to understand how to apply and read the codes.

About Absolute Vision - Absolute Vision Ltd is a specialist developer of two-dimensional (2D) code reading and machine vision solutions.

2D Data Matrix is a square or rectangular array of dots or cells that stores information in two dimensions (2D).

Products include innovative stand-alone and hand-held readers, embedded OEM solutions and software data integration.

Absolute Vision was acquired in October 2003 by global industrial marking equipment supplier, Pryor.

The company is working towards Investors in People and ISO 9001:2000 accreditations; and is a member of Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UK.
