Versatile, high speed 2D code reader has dual optics enabling oneunit to read both high density Data Matrix and large, low density linear barcodes.

Absolute Vision, a specialist in two-dimensional (2D) code reading, will be demonstrating its new hand-held multi-symbology code reader, the AV2 Phasor, for high-speed omni-directional decoding at MACH 2004 Believed to be the first of its kind in the UK, this versatile reader has dual optics enabling it to read both high density Data Matrix and large, low density linear barcodes

Previously more than one reader was required to read a variety of codes but the AV2 Phasor simultaneously reads 'near field' and 'far field' images and automatically discriminates between the two.

Small, ergonomic and competitively priced, the AV2 Phasor is the first code reader to give users the options of a palm-held reader, detachable pistol-grip, or fixed-head configuration in one single product.

Users also have the unique choice of using RS-232 or USB serial cable, or cordless Bluetooth? communications with a 90 metre operating range.

The light weight of the reader (basic reader 86g) helps to prevent user fatigue during lengthy periods of use.

The AV2 Phasor runs on a Li-ION battery that allows more than 4000 reads before requiring recharging.

It uses a 1.3 mega pixel sensor and features a timestamp for logging data in either real-time or batch mode.

The AV2 Phasor reads all widely recognised Data Matrix and bar codes including postal codes, Code 39, Code 128 and EAN/UCC.

The new reader has been designed to meet requirements for remote parts tracking, mobile data integration and quality control in the aerospace and automotive industries.

About Absolute Vision - Absolute Vision Ltd is a specialist developer of two-dimensional (2D) code reading and machine vision solutions.

2D Data Matrix is a square or rectangular array of dots or cells that stores information in two dimensions (2D).

It has now been adopted in many industries and is quickly becoming the standard marking technology due to its ability to hold more information in a smaller space and the robustness of its reading capability.

Products include innovative stand-alone and hand-held readers, embedded OEM solutions and software data integration.

Absolute Vision was acquired by global industrial marking equipment supplier, Pryor, in October 2003.

Absolute Vision is working towards Investors in People and ISO 9001:2000 accreditations and is a member of Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UK.
