ABAS software has been judged to be the market leader and first for user satisfaction among ERP offerings with German users, in a survey by Konradin.

Making safe decisions is not always easy, especially if the selection of a new business IT is concerned Many things have to be taken into consideration because the organisation of internal and comprehensive processes often decides about a company's success

References provide no absolute, but the highest possible security in the software selection process.

Using statements given by the users regarding the contentness of the used company IT, it can be checked if the systems uphold the promises of the system providers in daily practical use.

In this context the ERP study, regularly carried out by Konradin publishing since 1999, provides some sort of support.

Not many studies go into such detail when it comes to ERP systems in Germany and satisfaction regarding the implemented solution as the well-established and accepted Konradin study.

For the current study 2007/2008, more than 1700 users from the process industry, mechanical engineering, plant engineering and construction, vehicle construction and component supplier industry, electrotechnology and electronics industry have given their rating about their respective IT environment.

When rating the overall satisfaction with the used system, the abas Business Software achieved the best score for the fifth time, and with a grade of 1.86 was able to improve again.

User satisfaction is a central control quantity for a matured industry such as the software sector.

The users rated 13 satisfaction criteria for 10 ERP systems which are well-established in Germany.

This was based on 1700 interviews which were carried out by the independent market research institution Forster and Thelen by Email questionnaires or by phone.

Companies with 50 to 1000 employees from the process industry, mechanical engineering, plant engineering and construction, vehicle construction and component supplier industry, electrotechnology and electronics industry were the basis of the survey.

The users rated their used ERP system by means of school grades (1 = very good, 6 = insufficient).

"Every year we keenly await the results of the Konradin study.

We were very excited that we were able to even further improve as market leader and that for the fifth time we gained the first place regarding the users' satisfaction with the implemented solution.

This confirms our method of cooperative software development with our partners and customers, associations and universities," says COO Peter Forscht about this year's result.

The philosophy behind the abas Business Software is also reflected in its adaptability.

The users rate the abas Business Software with a grade of 1.7 - best score for ABAS again.

Karleugen Lagler, CEO at the company Eugen Lagler , describes his experiences with abas EPR as follows: "Due to the extreme flexibility and adaptability of this system it is possible for us to realise almost every idea we have on increasing our company efficiency in the production and management area." First place for the abas Business Software regarding upgrade support.

With each current version of the abas Business Software, the user is provided with new functions.

Approximately a third of the program code is renewed every year.

And the best is: company-specific adjustments will remain.

Users of the abas Business Software thus are always up-to-date in terms of IT.

ABAS also scores with its open system architecture and also gained first place in the user's favor.

Further modules and external systems can be flexibly connected to abas Business Software.

The price/performance ratio of abas ERP is right.

This is also rewarded with first place in this individual category.

For Dr Werner Dax, Head of IT at IST Metz , this was an important criterion for choosing the software: "What I like is the company which stands behind the abas Business Software: its flexibility, philosophy and understanding for their customers.

The price/performance ratio is excellent." "The result spurs us on and, at the same time, is an incentive to hold the top position reached for a fifth time.

At ABAS we have the duty to our users to confirm the performance and quality standard, and to expand and improve it further," summarizes Werner Strub, CEO of the ABAS Software AG, the Konradin ERP study 2007/2008.
