Automation equipment manufacturer, Ace Controls International has promoted former sales manager, Edward Abbott to the position of new general manager.

Edward joined the company in 1995 as their northern area sales manager.

In 1999, he became sales manager with responsibility for four area sales managers and all UK distributors.

The appointment of Edward in his new position coincides with a reorganisation of Ace's activities throughout Europe.

The Newton-le-Willows based UK office will now only be responsible for the UK and Southern Irish markets.

Other new reorganisation appointments within Ace UK are; Jacqui Bailey, as sales manager, Dorothy Robinson as commercial manager and Mike Lees as operations manager.

New Profile Damper Added To TUBUS Range From Ace Automation control equipment manufacturer Ace Controls International has introduced a new long version radial profile damper to its TUBUS product range.

The new TUBUS TR-L damper is a maintenance free, self-contained damper made from a special co-polyester elastomer.

The radial deformation of the TR-L series provides a very long and soft deceleration with progressive energy absorption towards the end of the stroke.

Application areas include mining equipment, dockyard handling equipment and baggage handling and conveyor systems, all areas where applications require very low reaction forces.

TUBUS dampers are resistant to oil, grease, seawater and to microbe or chemical attack and they have excellent UV and ozone resistance.

They have an operating temperature range from -40ºC to 90ºC.

They have a life expectancy 20 times longer than for urethane dampers, 10 times longer than rubber buffers and five times longer than steel springs.

The 39 models in the TR-L series have a reaction force range from 1450 to 286000 N and a maximum stroke range between 17 to 108mm.
