Clean and dry at the point of manufacture

An Air Control Industries product story

Where removal of excess material is vital in the production of accurate component parts and original equipment manufacture, avoid the 'creeping expense' and get a portable unit.

Where removal of excess material is vital in the production of accurate component parts and original equipment manufacture, compressed air or 'brushing off' has been the accepted method.

However, neither method acts as a drying process and where compressed air is being used continuously it can be a 'creeping expense'.

Acting on customer demand, leading air movement specialist Air Control Industries (ACI) have launched the new Jetblack Blow Gun, a lightweight portable air movement and drying unit requiring only a 230V, 1ph, 50Hz supply.

The basic unit, supplied with 2.5m of flexible hose and a 5m electrical cable and plug, sees the main body of the unit constructed from plastic materials giving a double insulated arrangement.

The main 12mm diameter nozzle gun is constructed from plastic tube - making it very light and easy to handle/manoeuvre - and has a swivel connection at the point where the hose attaches making it very robust.

There is also a sound-absorbing foam on all internal surfaces reducing noise levels below 78dB and the portable unit weighs less than 7kg.

The gun has already received customer approval in beta test sites for its drying performance and low pressure and low noise levels make it safer to use than compressed air.

At only,299, the Jetblack Blow Gun offers a cost saving over continues compressed air use and the gun can be used where no compressed air supply exists.

Options include a 20in lance, on/off operated foot switch, and an airflow speed controller.

Although the portable unit can be used in any area of the factory, ACI will be producing a wall mounted version later this year, ideal for subcontract engineering shops and modern toolrooms where the removal of swarf is necessary from footwear and clothing at factory exit points and entry to clean rooms.

A 230V static elimination version is also in development.
