Simultaneous viewing upgrade for camera control
AKCP, provider of environmental and security monitoring, has announced an upgrade to its cameraProbe8.
Other important additions and enhancements are greatly increased limits on the number of email-addresses and phone-numbers available in the Notification Matrix; automatic video signal detection; 180 degree picture rotation; a new easy to use slider bar to control the thermostat; Dial-Up PPP has been enhanced with PAP Authentication and can now be used over a GPRS connection.
Backing up your device's configuration has been made easier by adding buttons to the web interface to backup and restore your configuration using a file on a remote server.
AKCP's Linux devices will automatically send a shutdown message to your Linux or Windows based servers - so if there is a power outage, for example, you can rest assured that your servers will be safely and automatically shut down before your UPS runs out.
The software is available for free via a firmware update to existing AKCP customers, and is standard for all new sales.
The cameraProbe8 and sensorProbe8Linux are environmental and security monitoring devices.
The cameraProbe8 integrates a SONY CCD camera which is mounted on a precision stepper motor with the ability to pan and tilt.
Both systems support connection with external security cameras.
They include full Linux.
Hardware boasts a 32-bit ARM processor, 128 Megabytes of Flash and 64 Megabytes of SDRAM along with a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and 2 serial ports.
Software utilities include many applications; such as Apache web server, Bash, Perl, Vi, Telnet, PHP, Email, Nagios, and RRDTool, Video Conferencing.
