The MC1000 series variable speed motor drive features a stainless steel enclosure that ensures reliable operation in harsh environments, such as those found in food, chemicals and pharmaceuticals

The new MC1000 series variable speed motor drive from AC technology features a stainless steel enclosure that ensures reliable operation in harsh environments, such as those found in food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries The MC series drive is keypad programmable and has an integrated 16bit microprocessor that allows for a higher level of functionality from a smaller unit

The MC1000 Series drives are housed in IP65 rated stainless steel enclosures, guaranteeing consistency in their performance even when subjected to water, dust, oil and other contaminants.

They are ideally suited to applications where frequent wash-downs, or where contact with corrosive substances may occur, such as the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, powder, bulk solids and chemical processing industries.

The drives feature a highly integrated Intel 196 family motor control processor, Intelligent Power Modules and six output Intelligent Insulated Gate Bi-polar Transistors.

Such advanced technology has improved reliability and efficiency (97% throughout speed range) whilst reducing the footprint of the unit.

The MC1000 series is designed for constant torque or variable torque applications.

Motor speeds are controlled manually from the drive keypad and remotely using the serial communications port.

Parameters for particular applications can be set using a 0-10V DC or 4-20mA control signal from standard potentiometers, units fitted with Modbus or Metasys serial communication protocols and personal computers equipped with AC Tech's free TechLink interface Software.

Manual programming of the drive is easily done using an eight button, front panel-mounted keypad which is fitted with large, finger-size buttons, for easy operation.

Parameters can be set by scrolling down the menu and input values are shown on a 16 character, one line, backlit LCD display.

The menu-driven programming is in plain English, eliminating the frustration and time involved in learning complex systems that rely on codes and symbols.

Standard features include 4 pre-set speeds and two skip speeds with adjustable bandwidth.

A comprehensive Run mode display gives complete drive status (Run, Stop, Accel, Decel) as well as speed, load, voltage and control information.

The drive also offers a jog setting in remote mode (forward and reverse), manual speed dial through parameter numbers and a 3-wire start/stop control capability.

The units can be wired for single phase or 3 phase input with phase to phase and phase to ground short circuit protection.

Continuous output current limits of 180% can be tolerated for twenty seconds and 150% for one minute.

The drives also offer high and low line voltage protection as well as protection against excessive ambient temperature.

For security, the program mode can be password-protected using a four-digit input on the LCD screen.

The MC1000 series provides bi-directional control of the motor over a range of 0 to 120Hz.

All models can operate at carrier frequencies up to 14kHz (with full output up to 8kHz) and high-speed operation up to 1000Hz is optional.

Available in a power range from 0.18 to 45kW, the MC Series offers the widest range of voltages, power ratings and enclosure types in the industry. Request a free brochure from Lenze-ACTech ...
