Automated Components Ireland have been appointed as Ireland's sole distributor for the AC Tech range of micro and sub-micro AC drives with ratings from 0.18kW to 18.5kW The distributorship provides industrial companies involved in automated and clean room production processes with easy access to AC Tech's highly functional and extremely cost effective range of AC Drive products as well as professional sales and service

Operating from a 10,000ft2 facility in Lucan, Co.

Dublin, Automated Components Ireland (ACI) are perfectly situated to supply AC Tech's cost effective and easy to use drives to companies across Ireland.

ACI can supply the complete range of drives over the counter or as part of a complete system design and on-site installation service carried out by their teams of in-house engineers.

ACI specialise in supplying automated control systems to the packaging, pharmaceutical, electronics and food industries.

Due to these areas of expertise, AC Tech's MC series drive will prove to be one of the more popular products in the range as its stainless steel housing is IP65 rated, guaranteeing performance even when subjected to water, dust, oil and other contaminants.

ACI are also confident about the success AC Tech's SC range, seeing the drives as a unique product due to their high levels of functionality and ease of programming, facilitated by the revolutionary EPM Programming Module.

The module featured on the range is a removable chip that saves both maintenance and set up time by enabling the installer to program one drive, remove the memory chip, and copy the information across to installed units without the need for mains connection.

Michael McHugh, Managing Director of ACI, explained that "the AC Tech range of drives have allowed us to provide a economic and effective replacement to mechanical speed controls used in systems, which previously relied upon bulky gear boxes and friction clutches.

Aimed at OEM designers, the range fills a gap in the market for drives at a competitive enough in price to encourage use on these simpler applications as well as having the flexibility, in the case of the SCD range, to integrate machines into a wider plant control system via DeviceNetT connection." AC Tech's SC and MC series offer an easy manual set-up option via LCD displays and keys positioned on the front of the units.

Just a start command and a speed reference will start the motor running and by using the functions on the front of the drive, they can be easily configured for almost any motor control requirement, including Reversing, Jogging and Multi-speed operation.

Drives up to 18.5kW are available from ACI off-the-shelf and are suitable for use in 115-590V single and three phase applications.
