SCARA robot needs less assembly line
space
Intended to offer highest versatility at lowest cost, a high-speed, horizontal, multi-joint SCARA robot is of a compact size to fit into assembly lines having limited space.
For automated assembly lines with limited space, a high-speed, horizontal, multi-joint, selective compliant articulated robot arm SCARA robots have a compact size The Janome JSR4400N series of high-speed robots also have capacity for a library of 100 task-specific program speed set-ups

Visible light Nd:YAG laser welds shiny metals
The world's first visible light pulsed Nd:YAG welding laser is designed specifically for applications comprising highly reflective materials such as gold, copper and copper alloys.
Welding unit self-adjusts to maintain quality
An inverter resistance welding unit feeds back information during a weld at 1000 times/s and adjusts for variations, such as high oxide surface conditions, in parts to be welded.
Introduced by Acal TC, its Precision Joining Technologies (PJT) Division said that the robots offer more versatility as well as ease of use and low capital cost.
The Janome SCARA robots eliminate the 'hard automation' costs and increase productivity.
Memory cards store a library of 100 programs with instructions for tasks, for example, screw tightening, product dispensing and carrying out soldering.

Induction puts the heat where it is wanted
Induction heating systems, designed for brazing, soldering and heat treatment, restrict heat to the soldering area to avoid overheating of the brazing alloy and extend tool life.
SS switches operate inharsh environments
For operating in harsh-environments, a stainless steel switch powers up to 250V AC and carries a water-resistant rating of IP 67, and a shock resistance rating of IK 07.
The JSR4400N series robots can be programmed directly or remotely via external interfaces to RS232C, local area networks and twisted pair (TP), and can store up to 6000 individual data points.
The combination of a 5-phase pulse stepping motor with integrated micro-step drive circuitry reduces power consumption and avoids additional hardware.
So the JSR4400N robots need less space in which to operate.
Acal PJT's general manager, Dave Fawcett, commented, "These multi-functional and versatile robots can drive significant savings across a wide range of automated assembly tasks which can easily recoup their low initial investment." The high-speed, precise JSR4400N robots are made in 2-, 3- or 4-axis versions.
Acal PJT can demonstrate the robots for visitors in its new applications laboratory in Leicester, UK.
* About Acal - Acal TC's Precision Joining Technologies Division specialises in material joining methods, using a wide array of specialist equipment.
This can be as simple as an electric controlled screwdriver or soldering iron, through to a fully automated resistance or laser welding system.
The division's applications engineers are trained to provide customers with effective, affordable solutions to most material joining projects.
These solutions can be demonstrated at the company's fully-equipped applications laboratory, located at its headquarters in Leicester, UK.
* About Janome - Janome's Industrial Automation Systems Division is the worldwide distributor of the Janome desktop, SCARA, and gantry robots and AC servo press machines.
The company also offers as stepping motors, Quicher (screw feeder), and KX servo drivers.
These products are manufactured by associate companies, for the telecommunication, electronics, and automotive parts industries.
