ACT unveils indexable engraving tools
ACT has developed the Nine9 range of engraving tools with indexable carbide inserts.
They are held by a single counter-sunk locking screw, which makes them accessible to index or change without removing the tool-holder.
The four-sided design of the LWPH range provides four cutting edges on each insert with a positive sharp geometry, which allows a depth of cut up to 4mm and at the same provides good swarf control.
The design also reduces cutting forces, allowing delicate components to be machined consistently.
A choice of three corner radii -- 0.0, 0.2 and 0.4 -- is available in two grades -- an uncoated micrograin grade and a TiCN coated grade on a tough M20 substrate.
Shanks are available from 8mm to 20mm square.
