WLT has introduced a new web cleaning system designed for the elimination of static and dust prior to printing.

Advanced Dynamics has introduced a new web cleaning system designed for the elimination of static and dust prior to printing.

Manufactured by static device manufacturer Simco, the new type DD web cleaner is more compact than the earlier model and now has its own integrated power supply.

The built-in power supply avoids the need for external support and makes the web cleaner self-sufficient.

Building on the success of the earlier model, the latest DD has also been fitted with a new vacuum and dust collection system, allowing it to perform even better, said Advanced Dynamics.

Designed for installing on narrow web presses, the new unit can be fitted in very tight locations.

Typical applications include using on presses for labels.

Claimed to be relatively inexpensive, the DD Web cleaning system will prevent the build up of dust on any surface, which can lead to poor print production.

Reduced contamination also provides cost savings as the life of the print medium is extended, allowing the run-time of the press to be significantly increased, added Advanced Dynanics.

The DD web cleaner is complementary to the extensive range of static control systems offered by the company, including DC high voltage generators for pinning materials, handheld air guns, in-mould labelling systems, monitoring devices, air knives with ionising along with in-line ionisers for pneumatic conveyors.
