Compact wrapping machine uses ultrasonic sealing
Compact wrapping machine that uses ultrasonic sealing technology is believed to be a major breakthrough for flat product wrapping and can include an embossed pattern.
Operating at Hallmark's Bradford premises in time for Christmas, the machines are running off 60 packs of wrapped cards every minute and can handle batches of 10,000 without any changeover.
Each pack is provided with corner flash labels on the top face, barcode and label Eurohangers to the rear.
Two of the three base heads are used to apply the Eurohangers with automatic change over between one head and the other.
Alarms are fitted to all applicator heads for low reel and label-out warnings.
The label-out warnings also provide production line shut down.
When positioning the flash labels, accuracy is required to meet Hallmark's specified parameters of only +/- 0.5mm.
Advanced Dynamics met those demands and even at very high speeds the machines are able to stay within the limits set and pick up the cards at the edges claimed the company.
Operations manager for Hallmark, Chris Mallows, commented on the new label applicators: "In my opinion, the machines have been able to do everything we set them to do and much more.
The Eurohook is a completely new innovation for us from Advanced Dynamics and it has proven to be very valuable and is working admirably.
Advanced Dynamics' knowledge of labelling and checkweighing is second to none, which is the reason I go back to them time and time again, when I need new equipment.
They not only offer a flexible and friendly service but they also provide consultancy and advice, to ensure the equipment is exactly right for us." Advanced Dynamics' joint managing director Malcolm Little said: "The Eurohanger concept is relatively new and is an exciting development for us.
We have been working with Hallmark for a few years now, I am very happy that they have continued to trust us and our latest equipment." As well as providing Hallmark with four label applicators, Advanced Dynamics has also supplied two top-of-the-range checkweighers - TS9000s from the TESAB range - which handle packs of up to 24 cards.
