Electric tube bender has wall-thinning control
An all-electric tube bending machine supplied to a New Zealand company, has technology to reduce wall thinning at the point of bend and provides guaranteed repeatability of the bending process.
As a further demonstration of its abilities to successfully meet the complete tube bending and end forming needs of the global automotive industry, UK-based AddisonMckee has successfully completed a contract for the supply of its tube bending technology to Southward Engineering Company of New Zealand.
As New Zealand's foremost manufacturer of automotive exhaust systems and stainless steel tube - and dedicated to confirming its credentials as a leading supplier of OEM exhaust systems across Australasia - Southward invested in an AddisonMckee all-electric Databend DB 75 ESRB CNC tube bender.
* Highest levels of service - for Lancashire-based AddisonMckee, the Southward order provides additional proof of its ability to not only supply and commission the latest tube bending technology to countries worldwide, but also underlines its capability of providing the highest levels of machine maintenance and consumables supply.
Clean, all-electric technology - electrically-powered - and with AddisonMckee's boost technology to reduce wall thinning at the point of bend, the DB 75 ESRB machine (E - electric, S - multi-stack, R-multi-radius, B - boost) features fully programmable 9-axis CNC control and will bend tube of a maximum 76mm diameter, maximum 3mm wall thickness.
* Enhanced repeatability - through the elimination of manual machine setting following tooling changes, the DB 75 ESRB model provides guaranteed repeatability of the bending process and fast changeover times, whilst greater controllability ensures better quality bends and vastly reduced wastage.
At the same time, the absence of hydraulics ensures that there are no leaks or temperature variations that can lead to fluctuations in end-product quality.
* Worldwide expertise - "Having recently supplied a seventh all-electric Databend CNC machine to one customer in Australia - and with clients across Europe, North America, Japan, South Africa and the Middle-East - AddisonMckee can truly claim to be a major global provider of tube bending technology," commented export and sales director, Peter Chapman.
"With comprehensive after-sales support, spare parts and consumable supply available in all countries in which we operate, customers worldwide can select AddisonMckee tube bending technology in complete confidence." * Southward Car Museum - as a further point of interest, the owners of Southward Engineering are the founders of the famous Southward Car Museum where over 200 valuable vehicles are on display.
* World-class design - AddisonMckee's skilled workforce is capable of manufacturing CNC tube bending and tooling to suit virtually any application large or small.
The company's UK site is equipped with a large variety of modern CNC machine tools, supported by computer aided manufacturing and up to 30 design engineers working within integrated management TQM procedures.
AddisonMckee machines are supported by a fast response round-the-clock spare parts and on-site assistance service manned by a team of skilled service engineers.
With over 3,000 of its machines installed worldwide, AddisonMckee enjoys a global reputation for meeting and servicing its customers' needs.
