Web platform simplifies technical data
sharing

Enhanced Web-based platform simplifies process for sharing live technical knowledge and applications and enables users to quickly and easily produce and share interactive online documents.

Maplesoft, the leading provider of high-performance software tools for engineering, science and mathematics, today announced the availability of MapleNet 10, an enhanced Web-based platform for deploying live technical knowledge and applications Integrated with Maple 10, the company's flagship product, MapleNet 10 enables users to quickly and easily produce and share interactive online documents with colleagues and customers

Prior to the development of MapleNet 10, users would author and post content by creating Java Server Pages (JSP), Java applets or Maplet applications.

In addition to supporting these authoring formats, MapleNet 10 now provides the ability to directly post a Maple 10 document to the Web.

Users are not required to do any additional programming to deploy their Maple content and applications.

Once published, all the maths is live in the Web browser and as a result, colleagues around the world can work with, and benefit from, high-powered, live maths without needing a copy of Maple 10 installed locally on their computer.

MapleNet 10 allows users to embed dynamic formulae, models and diagrams as live knowledge inside Web pages.

When users share their content, readers can change parameters and generate the results for their own problems all within their Web browser without needing any additional programming, extra software or plug-ins on their machines.

"Our goal is to change maths from a burden to an enabling competitive advantage," said Jim Cooper, CEO of Maplesoft.

"Whether the application is research, e-learning or product design and development, the integration of Maple 10 and MapleNet 10 enables users to work better, faster and smarter.

The ability to directly post a Maple document is something that MapleNet users have been requesting, and will dramatically change the way our customers deploy technical information and solutions throughout their organisations." In addition to posting and sharing Maple 10 documents, MapleNet 10 has other key new features including: * A new equation editor that lets users create textbook-quality equations in natural mathematical notation.

* Animations with full controls for play, stop, frame rate, loopback and more.

Increased language support that allows users to document work in Japanese and other character sets.

* Plot controls that provide greater control over plot appearance, gridlines, line thickness and style.

Availability MapleNet 10 will be available from Adept Scientific in June. Request a free brochure from Adept Scientific ...
