Simulink users gain powerful, flexible I/O target
A powerful Ethernet tool supports the creation and tuning of a wide variety of applications, including simulation model verification, rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Adept Scientific, Letchworth, Herts, UK, has added United Electronic Industries (UEI)'s (Walpole, Mass, USA) UEISIM to its range of PC/Ethernet data acquisition and control systems products.
The UEISIM offers Simulink users a powerful and flexible I/O target.
Models built in Simulink are deployed directly on the UEISIM using The Mathworks' Real-Time Workshop.
Once programmed, the UEISIM may operate as a stand-alone module or may be continuously monitored by a host computer over the Cube's Ethernet port.
This offers the Simulink user a powerful tool for the creation and tuning of a wide variety of applications, including simulation model verification, rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
The UEISIM 300 allows the installation of up to three I/O boards.
The UEISIM 600 is slightly larger at 4in x 4.1in x 5.8in and allows the installation of up to six I/O boards (containing up to 150 analogue inputs or 288 DIO).
The I/O boards installed are determined by the user's application.
There are currently over 30 different I/O boards available including analogue input, analogue output, digital I/O, counter/Timer, quadrature Encoder, serial I/O, CAN bus and ARINC-429 interfaces.
Adept Scientific's general manager, Mike Pisapia, said: "The UEISIM is an ideal solution for Simulink users who need to test their simulations on real hardware and is an excellent choice for production systems once an application has been completed.
There are also huge benefits to be gained using UEISIM as part of RandD applications".
The UEI product range is supplied and supported by Adept Scientific in the UK and Ireland.
With offices in the UK, USA, Germany and throughout the Nordic region, Adept Scientific is one of the world's leading suppliers of software and hardware products for research, scientific, engineering and technical applications on desktop computers.
