Camera provides electronic manufacturers with higher speed and greater overall price-to-performance value in the automated optical inspection of printed circuit boards.

The Falcon 1.4M100 CMOS camera provides very high speed speed with 1.4 MegaPixels resolution Its compact-cubic body is packed with quality features such as vertical windowing, flat-field correction, Global shutter, exposure control and much more, said Adept Electronic Solutions

The 1.4M100 CMOS camera's 1400x1024 pixel resolution runs at an impressive 100 frames/s full resolution.

It features large square pixels at 7.4 micron x 7.4 micron for good sensitivity.

The CMOS camera's cubic-shaped compact form of 44x44x44mm body weighs below 175g and is very power efficient running at <4W.

It outputs over Mini Cameralink and is Power of CL (PoCL) capable.

The Dalsa Falcon 1.4M100 is superior in resolution, frame rate, size, weight, power-efficiency and priced very aggressively.

The 1.4M100 CMOS camera runs at a data rate of 80MHz and with mini Camera Link provides connectivity at up to 10m distance.

The CMOS camera's Power over Camera Link (PoCL) feature comes as a single one-connector solution eliminating the need for a second power cable.

The Dalsa Falcon 1.4M100 CMOS camera has vertical windowing feature that allows users to trade-off vertical resolution for increased speeds.

Reducing the CMOS camera's resolution to VGA increases the frame rate to 216 frames/s.

Dalsa has also flat-field corrected its 1.4M100 CMOS cameras with all dark fields, FPN, PRNU removed and FFC coefficients enabled.

Adpt told manufacturingtalk.com that this benefits the customers with fast simple installation without the complications from individual calibrations on site.

The 1.4M100 CMOS camera's global shutter and exposure control addresses the problems experienced by CMOS cameras with rolling shutters.

It is now capable of avoiding ambient light from reaching the sensor, time domain artifacts integrating at different time periods and the inability to inspect moving parts/objects.

The Dalsa Falcon 1.4M100 takes precedence over its competition in many aspects.

When pitted against price-performance similar sensors such as Kodak's 1 MP ILT sensor (KAI-1020M) and Sony's ICX285AL sensor, the Falcon prices lower whilst performing up to 4 times faster in a more compact body.

The feature advantages and competitive edge that the Falcon 1.4M100 CMOS camera has in the marketplace is only further reinforced by its Dalsa-exclusive and designed CMOS image sensor.

This benefits the customer through Dalsa's direct manufacturer ownership of the camera sensor.

Being exclusive only to Dalsa products also means that the sensor is not being generically diluted amongst a pool of cameras from various brands.

* Higher speeds and grater value - electronic manufacturers with automated optical inspection of printed circuit board applications have often required both higher speeds and greater overall price-to-performance value for their peripheral cameras used for inspection processes.

One of the key inspection processes is the height, volume and location analysis of solder paste on bare boards ensuring quality placement of electronic components.

The new Falcon 1.4M100 CMOS camera has superior speeds, impressive resolutions, compact body, mini-Camera Link and loads of features at a competitive price.
