Initially the UK operation included 'Lafert' in its trading name to denote AEG's incorporation into the Lafert Group. Now, in the fourth year of trading, the trading name has been simplified.

The year 2000 saw the set up of AEG Lafert Electric Motors in the UK Since then the company has built a solid and expanding client base with a turnover now equal to 6% of the Lafert Group's European turnover (7% of European total motor market) and treble its first year's trading

Initially the UK operation included 'Lafert' in its trading name to denote AEG's incorporation into the Lafert Group.

Now, in the fourth year of trading, it has been decided to simplify the trading name both to indicate and reinforce the company's technical pedigree and to distinguish it from the Group's other activities.

"The initial use of the 'Lafert' name was key to underlining the UK operation's credibility", says Nigel Evenett, AEG Electric Motors' managing director.

"Now, with four years successful trading, it is possible and I believe beneficial, to clarify our identity in relation to our business as a serious electric motor manufacturer." AEG Electric Motors manufactures both single and three phase machines, with more than 40% being customer specials.

Currently the company offers 20,000 configurations of shaft and flange, shafts up to 1 metre, female shafts, stator/rotor units, customised frames and special windings.
