Providing fast, flexible and cost-effective coordinate metrology services to manufacturing sector customers throughout the UK, a new company carries out work on components up to 2m3.

Adept Inspection Services is a newly-formed company providing fast, flexible and cost-effective coordinate metrology services to manufacturing sector customers throughout the UK Founded by husband and wife team of Jamie Castree and Suzy Brain, the Bristol-based firm offers everything from high precision measurement of one-offs and prototypes, to initial sample inspection reports (ISIRs) and ongoing monitoring of batch parts

Both contact and non-contact measurement methods are available - for rigid or soft components ranging from a few millimetres to 2 metres cubed - with results presented in customer specific or industry standard formats.

In parallel, Adept provides sales, refurbishment, retrofits, service, calibration and training for an extensive range of UK and imported coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and associated inspection equipment, including: IMS, Brown and Sharpe, Ferranti, LK, Mitutoyo and Renishaw.

The company's aggressive marketing strategy is based on offering customers a fast turnaround at extremely competitive rates.

"And with no minimum order value, our inspection services are just as attractive to small toolmakers - for one-off reports on gauges, jigs or fixtures - as they are to multi-national organisations requiring custom-designed inspection programmes or capability studies on new production processes," says Adept's managing director, Jamie Castree.

"We are also geared up to accept large CAD models in a range of standard formats, including STEP and IGES, as well as native CATIA designs.

In addition, we can create accurate geometry data files for rapid prototyping and reverse engineering applications." Adept draws on the couple's more than 20 years hands-on experience in the aerospace, automotive, telecoms and metrology equipment sectors, and has already won contracts from high profile customers such as Prodrive Automotive Technologies, Avon Technical Products and the Corin Group.

"We have achieved early success by focusing closely on our customers' needs," continues Castree.

"This is an ongoing theme, and will be mirrored in a series of new services we plan to introduce over the next few months.

I believe we have already established a solid foundation on which to expand our future operations." About Adept Inspection Services - based in Bristol, Adept Inspection Services combines manufacturing industry knowledge with technical competence to meet customers' needs for fast and accurate coordinate metrology.

Services include: contract measurement and component inspection, process capability studies, custom-designed inspection programmes and the creation of reverse engineering product geometry.

In addition, the company provides sales, refurbishment, retrofits, service, calibration and training for an extensive range of UK and imported coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and associated inspection equipment.
