A hand truck was redesigned with a single raise and a 'gas spring damper' lower and is being used for the efficient and safe handling of a multitude of packaging and raw products.

Acres (Willington) has designed and manufactured a unique hand truck for Dove Valley (Ashbourne) in Derbyshire after the company was unable to find a product on the market that met its requirements The engineers at Acres are well used to challenges like this and immediately set about finding a solution

"We used one of Dove Valley's old trolleys as a pattern and then manufactured the new version using the latest technology and components," says Tony Parker, MD of Acres.

The truck has a single raise and a 'gas spring damper' lower and is being used at Dove Valley's processing plant for the efficient and safe handling of a multitude of packaging and raw products.

The truck was delivered a few weeks ago and is proving so useful that Dove Valley is considering a programme that will see all of their trolleys being made to the new design.

Tony Rance, Purchasing Manager at Dove Valley said, "It is, where possible, Dove Valley's policy to use local innovative companies, to provide products and services, which meet the requirements of our business.

Acres provided a simple yet complete solution to a material handling problem, which now allows Dove Valley to optimise handling of packaging and raw materials used within its operations.".
