Wire EDM adds competitive gain
With EDM wire cutting, especially with the Agie cut Evolution and Agie tron Innovation machines, Christian Dunkel ocquired a decisive competitive advantage in jig and fixture manufacture.
In addition to the sales - a significant number of new machine tool quotations were also prepared and sent to customers attending the event.
The Medical Open House attracted visitors from all over the UK - and included OEMs, first-tier suppliers and precision subcontractors.
The event itself (duplicated over the three days) consisted of a series of key note presentations from medical industry experts - and was followed by precision component machining demonstrations on a range of AgieCharmilles GF machine tools (Agie and Charmilles EDM machines and Mikron HSM/5-axis machines).
The demonstrations attracted a great deal of attention - both in terms of the range and complexity of the parts being produced - (titanium and stainless orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments etc) - and the new machine tool technology on view.
Said Martin Spencer, general manager - Customer Sales and Service at Agie Charmilles: "We got the balance right between formal presentations and practical machining demonstrations.
Visitors were able to get an overview of where the medical industry is going over the next few years - and the opportunities that exist for precision manufacturers within the sector.
This was then backed up by them seeing relevant machine tool demonstrations - that showed how our technology is being used to manufacture high value, high precision parts.".
