Builder of EDM and CNC milling machines, GF AgieCharmilles, reported winning over GBP 1.4 million worth of orders during the recent UK MACH 2008 exhibition.

EDM and CNC milling machine tool builder, GF AgieCharmilles, sold 12 machine tools worth over GBP 1.4 million during the UK's recent MACH 08 machine tool exhibition.

In addition, the company recorded over 80 serious and positive machine tool sales enquiries.

The company's Customer Services Business Team (EDM consumables, machine tool servicing and preventative maintenance contracts; training, etc) generated a further GBP 120,000 of sales.

Managing director at GF AgieCharmilles, Steve Sylvester, said: "It's always great to take new machine tool orders on the Stand - and the fact that over 50% of these came from new customers is particularly pleasing.

I'm also delighted by the volume and the quality of the enquiries we took during the week, which are now being actively followed-up".

He said that wire and die-sink EDM machines proved to be popular with visitors.

The latest Cut 20 wire EDM machine, also picked up the top award for the 'Best Physico-Chemical Machine Tool' at the MWP Awards Event.

As regards milling, four Mikron advanced CNC milling machines were sold during the MACH week, said AgieCharmilles.

Sylvester commented: "Make no mistake - MACH is an expensive event in terms of time and resource, but all indications suggest that it's given us (and is continuing to give) an excellent return on our investment".
