CNC milling machine developments as well as die-sink and wire cut EDM machines will be shown by GF AgieCharmilles at a UK Open House in September.

EDM and CNC milling machine tool specialist, GF AgieCharmilles, will be staging an Open House at the company's Coventry, UK, facility September 10 and 11, 2008.

Called 'Productivity Drive' the open house will include practical and innovative machine demonstrations.

Topical presentations, will show how these new technologies can be used and applied to deliver real improvements in productivity, performance and profitability.

* EDM machines - Two die-sink EDM machines - the Form 30 and AT Hyperspark (IQ), will be of interest to precision toolmakers and precision component manufacturers.

GF AgieCharmilles' managing director Steve Sylvester, said: "The new FORM 30 is a high capability standard spark erosion machine that provides users with the best of all worlds - fast, flexible and efficient machining, excellent accuracy and surface finish, significantly reduced running costs and unrivalled process reliability".

The AT Hyperspark (IQ) is an advanced spark erosion machine that features an integrated digital generator and control technologies to produce visrtually no electrode wear.

Other EDM machines on show at the event include the recently-launched and highly-successful CUT 20 standard wire EDM machine, and two advanced wire EDM machines - the FI 640 CleanCut and AC Progress V2.

* CNC Milling machines - the company will also show its latest Mikron 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.

These machines include the latest heavy-duty 3-axis VCE 800 Pro X and two 5-axis machines - the UCP 600 and UCP 600 Vario (equipped with integrated APC automation).

Sylvester said: "Over the last 12 months we have pushed the sales of our 5-axis machines through our 'Five Drive Campaign', and the results have been tremendous".

He added: "We are continuing the Five Drive campaign for the foreseeable future and are launching a new 3-axis milling machine campaign called 'Millingenuity', which starts at the Open House".

The 'Millingenuity' campaign focuses on standard, high-performance and high-speed, 3-axis milling machine tool technology.

In addition to the machine tools being shown and demonstrated at the Open House the company will also present its latest customer services to visitors.

These include a new 'Matched Deposit' scheme, which customers can take advantage of when purchasing a new GF AgieCharmilles machine.

Sylvester explained: "To help offset any difficulties customers may be experiencing with the 'credit crunch' - we have introduced our Matched Deposit initiative, which reduces the deposit required from customers when purchasing a new machine from 10% to only 5%.

The remaining outstanding 5% will be matched by GF AgieCharmilles".

Other customer service initiatives presented at the Open House include the 'Privilege Club' (loyalty and incentive programme), and the latest deals on the company's EDM consumables, machine tool after-sales servicing and support, and its recently-launched Preventative and Production Maintenance Plans.
