UK's new Asquith Butler machine tool company attracted 74 visitors from 40 companies during a recent 'Open House', which demonstrated horizontal and vertical, heavy duty machining centres.

Asquith Butler, part of the Kingsbury Group, extended a warm welcome to customers and potential customers from a broad section of industry at its recent 'Open House.' Over the designated three days, AsquithButler hosted 74 visitors from 40 companies - demonstrating its impressive portfolio of vertical and horizontal machining centres, while the occasion provided an excellent 'impromptu' forum to discuss the latest developments in prismatic machining The 'Open House' was the first time that AsquithButler has opened its doors to the public since moving to Brighouse, West Yorkshire, UK, early last year

The many visitors were clearly impressed with the building extension work already carried out, the imaginative plans for the site's further redevelopment, and the AsquithButler machining centres demonstrated.

The new building extension houses a purpose-built assembly and test bay in which two machining centres were currently in-build.

The second phase of the development is already underway and will see the completion of the head and ram assembly clean room, and new office facilities, before June 2006.

Taking pride of place in the new extension was a 12m PowerCentre, travelling column horizontal machining centre, with head changing and tool changing facility, and rotary table.

The machine is set to be delivered to JCB Earthmovers, Cheadle, in the next few weeks.

Alongside the PowerCentre was a StarCut 400S travelling gantry, vertical machining centre, also with head changing and tool changing facility.

AsquithButler intend to fully refurbish the machine, which was purchased from Alstom Energy, Rugby, where it was in production for five years.

Once the StarCut has been refurbished to 'as new' standard, it will be offered for resale.

Complementing the AsquithButler machines, technology partners Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Renishaw and CyTec were represented - demonstrating products that are fully compatible with the AsquithButler range.

Managing director, Paul Hinchliffe, comments: "Our many visitors over the three days were impressed with our new premises and the solution capabilities that AsquithButler machines can offer.

There was a lot of positive feedback and I am certain this will translate into a number of firm orders in time.

I would like to thank all customers, potential customers and suppliers who took time out of their busy schedule to support our Open House over these three days.".
