SS conveyor helps maintain hygienic
conditions
Maintaining cleanliness in cereals manufacture means not relying on buckets and chains but using a stainless steel elevating incline conveyor instead.
A major cereal manufacturer realised that buckets and chains don't equal cleanliness, so it replaced a relatively new conveyor system with a Dorner AquaPruf LPZ Series stainless steel elevating incline conveyor Engineered to have the The AquaPruf LPZ Series are claimed by Dorner to have the fastest cleaning times in the industry

One source for modular engineered products
Automation Supplies is a new company offering a range of exciting new engineered products from one source, based on the popular and increasing use of established modular parts and assemblies.
The conveyors can be disassembled for cleaning in only 30s, and without tools.
The AquaPruf stainless steel LPZ offers less equipment downtime for cleaning and a higher return-on-investment ssaid Dorner.
* Safe and sanitary conditions - maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in the processing and packaging of cereals products is a main concern.

Conveyor maximizes usable belt width
Conveyor users can maximise useable belt width and minimize the space used by the conveyor structure as a belt is only 2.5mm from the conveyor's edges.
Conveyors remove belt drive problems
Conveyor range has a patented drive system that eradicates the need for tensioning and tracking, which increases belt life.
Aluminium profile system offers range and economy
Aluminium profile system has all the essentials needed to make machine frames, guarding and modular frameworks but at a highly economical cost to the user.
However, the bucket-and-chain conveyor used to move product up an incline was difficult to clean on a daily basis; nor did it meet sanitary needs.
The fact that the conveyor stretched more than 20ft in the air at a 45-deg angle made it difficult to keep clean.
The cereal company consulted Dorner and its stainless steel Engineered To Order (ETO) programme.
The ETO gives extra attention to building conveyors, said Automation Supplies in a report to manufacturingtalk.com.
The conveyors have novel dimensions and characteristics above and beyond the dimensions of Dorner's regular conveyor platforms.
* AquaPruf LPZ Series conveyor platform - the AquaPruf LPZ Series conveyor platform is one of the AquaPruf family of sanitary conveyors.
It is designed with one or two fixed angle points that allow the conveyor to accommodate a variety of height and angle requirements.
The AquaPruf LPZ Series platform gives users a stainless steel conveyor system with all the sanitary advantages of fast and effective cleaning.
The AquaPruf LPZ Series platform also has the flexibility of moving product up an incline or down a decline and saves valuable production floor space.
For the cereal manufacturer, Dorner used a positive-driven USDA-approved solid urethane belt for smooth, consistent operation in wet, humid environments.
The theromdrive urethane belt used in the AquaPruf LPZ Series will not stretch in humid conditions and has no bacteria-harbouring hinges or pins, said Automation Supplies.
The AquaPruf LPZ Series platform is an open-frame design that allows for easy access for cleaning the frame and the top and bottom sides of the belt.
These advantages result in a stainless steel conveyor system that's more sanitary and easier to clean than any other conveyor on the market today, said Automation Supplies.
The AquaPruf LPZ Series conveyor comes in three types of configurations, as follows.
* Z-frame, which has two angle points.
* Horizontal-to-incline, a design which has a section of the conveyor up an incline.
* Nose-over, a design which has a section of the conveyor on a decline.
All three configurations come in either plastics chain or belt options.
Automation Supplies advises that delivery time for standard AquaPruf LPZ Series conveyor systems is only about 10-12 days from time of order.
