Plastic chain/slat conveyors are very flexible

An Automation Supplies product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Nov 29, 2007

Highly flexible plastics chain or slat conveying options suit a wide range of industry uses such as filling, packaging, inspection, storage, general manufacturing and assembly.

Automation Supplies has added a flexible product transportation system 'FlexMove' to its extensive range of conveyor options.

FlexMove provides highly competitive, cost effective, 'incredibly flexible' plastics chain (or slat) conveying options for a wide range of industry applications.

These include filling, packaging, inspection, storage, general manufacturing and assembly in industries such as automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, labelling and many, many more.

The name FlexMove is derived from the two elements - 'flexibility' and 'movement'.

Together they symbolise the need for both elements in fast moving production plants.

* Comprehensive range - plastics flexible link chain conveying is not a new concept, said Automation Supplies to manufacturingtalk.com.

The FlexMove family of conveyor.

on the other hand, is a more comprehensive range than some of the current offerings available, and at a lower price.

The FlexMove system is industry and field proven globally and the comprehensive range of standard modular components is manufactured in aluminium extrusion and casting, precision fabrication, injection moulding and metal forming methods.

A very wide range of FlexMove options are available.

Chain widths of 35mm, 63mm, 83mm, 103mm and 150mm are all available as standard.

Widths are up to 300mm.

Drive systems available include direct , suspended , intermediate, catenary and bend wheel options.

A series of low cost side rail systems are also available.

Bends are available that have either sliding or rolling action.

Twin lane or multiple lane pallet handling conveyors can be set up easily and quickly with minimal tools.

The FlexMove system can transport products horizontally, on an incline, a decline and even vertically, thanks to a wide range of belt options and modular design simplicity.

Further, it can be easily interconnected with other existing systems of either FlexMove or other manufacturers using simple hand tools.

FlexMove construction allows for faster system installation, reliable operation and cost effectiveness in a conveyor system that is versatile enough to adapt for future production refinements or expansion.

Spare parts and components can also be interchanged with some of the more expensive systems currently on offer in the UK, and save users thousands in spare parts replacement costs.

A stainless steel based system will also shortly be available.

The most important difference about the FlexMove system, said Automation Supplies, will be the mode of supply.

Automation Supplies can deliver a fully operating system, but with FlexMove there are more options.

The whole conveyor can be ordered as a built up working conveyor to 'plug in and go', having been assembled and tested.

But if the user requires more involvement themselves for reasons of budget or more practical issues, a modular system will be offered with part assembly for the customer to finish off on site, or even a kit of parts for the customer to assemble the completer conveyor from scratch.

A quality conveyor system that is interchangeable with the existing systems available, with all the technology and options industry requires, can be delivered complete or in kit form and all this at a price that is hard to beat, said Automation Supplies.
